The town of Aachen offers many places of interest. One of them is Aachen Cathedral in the heart of the city. The building was completed at the end of the 8th century by the Emperor Charlemagne and is also known to be the first UNESCO World Heritage site in Germany. Moreover, the Elisenbrunnen fountain represents Aachen as a spa and bathing city. Not only the Romans appreciated these hot springs, but also Charlemagne.
The town hall of Aachen has a beautiful historic façade depicting 50 rulers and most of them were crowned in Aachen.
The border triangle of Germany-Belgium-The Netherlands also provides many picturesque villages and a marvelous nature.
