The international Airport of Carrasco is located around 20 kilometers to the East from the engineering school (FING), UdelaR. It offers regional flights within Latin American main cities, such as Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Lima, and Panamá, with airlines LATAM, Avianca, COPA, and international flights to the United States and Europe.

Montevideo has direct flights with Iberia and Air Europa to Madrid, with connections to other main cities such as Rome and Lisbon, and also connections with KLM, Air France, and Lufthansa via Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo to other main cities such as Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich, Munich, and London. It was completely renewed in 2009.

Travelling from the Carrasco airport to FING, UdelaR and to nearby hotels:

  • By Taxi or Uber: The fastest and easiest way is to take an Airport taxi one way trip costs around usd 50 (55 euros), or a Uber or Cabify that also operates in Uruguay.
  • By shuttle: Airport shuttles can be booked in advanced one way trip costs around usd 13 (15 euros).
  • By bus: The direct urban bus line DM1 ends at the Punta Carretas shopping which is 5-10 minutes walking distance to the venue and recommended hotels. Long distance buses COT and COPSA del ESTE ends at the buses terminal Tres Cruces (Three crosses) which is 20 minutes by car to the venue and surroundings. How to get around in Montevideo.
