The ICPM 2027 Demo Track is intended to showcase innovative Process Mining (PM) tools and applications that may originate either from research initiatives or industry. The Demo Track provides an opportunity to present and discuss emerging technologies with researchers and practitioners in the PM community.
Requirements and assessment criteria
Tools will be evaluated based on their relevance to the PM community, as well as their novelty and innovativeness. Previously demonstrated tools are also welcome, provided there is clear evidence of added value compared to earlier versions, such as new features or adaptations for new practical applications.
The tools will also be evaluated with respect to their maturity, complexity, and robustness, including aspects such as supported features, use cases, and the number and types of intended users.
To enable reviewers to assess maturity and robustness, the tools must be available for testing. If the tool requires a license, it must be provided to reviewers at least for the duration of the review period. The process for obtaining such a license must not reveal the identity of the reviewers. In line with FAIR principles, authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their tools remain available for at least five years after publication.
Each tool submission must be accompanied by an extended abstract that must include at least the following information:
- An introduction reflecting on the relevance and innovativeness of the tool to the Process Mining community.
- A section describing the tool and its main features.
- A section discussing the maturity of the tool. For this section, one could provide a brief description of case studies performed using the tool, provide scalability data or pointers indicating where readers can find more information about these case studies.
- A link to a Web page where to download or use the tool. If the tool requires a license, a paper’s appendix must describe how to obtain a (temporary) license. The procedure to obtain the license must not disclose the identity of the reviewers. The appendix will not be included in the final version for the proceedings, if the demo is accepted.
- A link to a video that screencasts and demonstrates the tool, preferably including voice, which must not be longer than 4 minutes.
Submission and Review Process
The extended abstract should be submitted through the ICPM 2027 submission system, which is reachable at https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=icpm2027 where one should select “Poster-Demo ICPM 2027”.
Demo abstracts must be no longer than 6 pages in PDF format and must adhere to CEURART submission formatting guidelines. The related LaTeX template (CEURART 1-column) must be downloaded from here: https://icpmconference.org/2027/icpm_2027_ceur_demo_template/. Alternatively, a template for use with Overleaf is also available at the following link: https://www.overleaf.com/latex/templates/icpm-demo-track-template/hjchnqxdrvpb. In addition, the authors need to fill in the metadata table at the beginning of the template with information relevant for their tool.
Accepted submissions will be published as CEUR proceedings (indexed by DBLP and SCOPUS). All demo submissions will be reviewed by the demo program committee. The reviewing committee will also vote on the best demo to be granted the ICPM 2027 Best Demo Award.
Presentation
The practical organisation of the Demo Track will be communicated at a later stage. At least one author of each accepted contribution is required to register for the conference and present the demo.
