Mastering Dark Data: Crafting Big Data Pipelines from Event Logs using the DataCloud Toolbox

This hands-on workshop aims to introduce the main concepts related to the life-cycle management of big data pipelines relying on the innovative toolbox developed in the context of H2020 DataCloud project. Participants will engage in interactive sessions, experiencing first-hand the toolbox and methodologies for transforming real-world event logs into dynamic Big Data pipelines, providing them with a powerful toolkit for data processing applications.

SRC Brainstorm: ‘Best Practices for Process Mining Education

As an initiative of the Belgian Scientific Research Community on Process Mining (https://srcprocessmining.com/), a Brainstorm Seminar on the topic ‘Best pratices for Process Mining Education’ will be organised in the margin of ICPM 2023. The aim of this brainstorming session is to initiate a closer connection and collaboration between process mining researchers/educators through establishing a collection of shared learning materials (event logs, comprehensive examples, exercises, etc.), as well as defining best practices for process mining education. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their experiences on process mining education strategies and learn from education experts.

Opportunities for logistics leveraging blockchain and distributed data clean rooms

A brainstorming seminar on the topic of “Opportunities for logistics leveraging blockchain and distributed data clean rooms” is organised as a satellite event of ICPM 2023 to explore – together with key stakeholders – the opportunities and future perspectives in logistics, leveraging new technologies such as blockchain, data clean rooms, and artificial intelligence. The discussion will particularly focus on the area of freight transportation and associated custom controls. Participants will explore the usability of these technologies beyond the classic track-and-trace use cases to understand how novel distributed data management solutions can facilitate cooperation and resource optimisation in the freight transportation sector while also facilitating compliance with relevant regulations and custom controls. Participants will offer their perspectives on the matter, sharing experiences and best practices. During the seminar, the results of the project Blockchain Registry for Import Export (BRIE), co-funded by the Cyber 4.0 Competence Centre, will be briefly presented.
